Sunflower hearts are sunflower seeds with the outer husk removed. They are a very popular straight wild bird feed as they are suitable for a number of different wild garden birds, including soft-billed birds.

Sunflower Hearts are a nutritious and calorie-dense feed, very high in energy, protein and natural oils that are essential for a healthy diet. A proven energy and protein source, this feed is ideal for all seasons but particularly in the colder months.

With the husk removed, hearts can be enjoyed without the birds wasting energy on cracking seeds open. In the winter months birds need to preserve their energy as much as they can.

The sunflower husks have already been removed, meaning they will leave little to no mess at your feeding area. They are therefore a great alternative to sunflower seeds and you are not wasting money on husks which can’t be eaten whilst also giving your birds the same nutritional value!
